Where I started, and still do. Full interior painting, and the deeper work period homes need: cracks cut out and filled properly, damaged cornice, architrave and mouldings rebuilt, old surfaces brought back to former glory before a drop of paint goes on. It's the part of a job I enjoy most — watching a tired room come back. I'm happy to advise on paint choices as well, colours and finishes that will suit the room and hold up in it, and I can supply the paint if you would rather not sort it yourself.
Period homes
Dublin has no shortage of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian houses with features worth saving. Rebuilt properly, they look like they were never damaged.
Cracks done right
A crack cut out, filled and sanded stays gone. Painted over, it tends to come back within the year, so I open it up and fill it properly the first time.
A painter’s eye
I came to carpentry from painting and deep restoration, which is why I am as fussy about the finish as I am about the cut.
