Panelling only looks as good as the wall behind it and the finish on top of it. Every surface is filled where it should be and sanded smooth before a drop of paint goes on — and if I am not painting it myself, it leaves you prepped and ready for the brush.
Filled properly
Filler goes where filler belongs. Joints are tight because the fit is right, so what's left to fill is minimal and stays put.
Sanded properly
Walls behind wainscoting filled where necessary and the entire surface sanded smooth.
Painted or paint ready
I can take it right through to the final coat, or hand it over with the nail holes and joints filled for your own decorator — it will still need a sand and any additional filling after the first coat, at the painter's discretion.

Wall Preparation & Finishing in Dublin homes
A period hallway taken from cracked, flaking plaster through to a finished wall — cracks cut out and filled, the stairwell made good, then everything sanded smooth and painted.
